Take Heart...We're in it together!

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

You will struggle, you will feel alone and this world will cause you pain. All of us will encounter hardships, trials, and misfortunes. But take heart, we have hope in hopeless situations. We have cause to find joy in life’s most debilitating situations. Death is beat…our King has overcome. Jesus Christ has overcome this world, he has overcome death, and He will help you overcome what you are going through. We have saints and angels, legends of the bible rooting us on, praying for us to stand up, take heart and overcome the trials this world gives us.

Hebrews 12:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

I like the messages translation of this verse a little better:

Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

Take Heart! These warriors that we read about like David, Joshua, Gideon…all these guys are rooting for you in heaven. They want you to beat the sin…they want to party in heaven with us eternally. Don’t you think it would be cool to be in heaven and share some battle stories with guys like Moses? It would for me…I know I could tell my wing house story and David would love it. It’s a brotherhood, we all struggle. We will not encounter one problem that someone in the bible has not had to go though. Our battles were their battles and they want us to win.

If that’s not dope enough for you…we have a King that has already done it. Our King, Jesus Christ subjected himself to suffer on this earth just so we can say…He understands.

Read Hebrews 4 from the message:
Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let's not let it slip through our fingers. We don't have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He's been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let's walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.

You cannot use the excuse Jesus doesn’t know how I feel…he does. Read matt 4 about the some of the temptation Jesus went through. Remember…You are not alone! It may seem that no one here on this earth cares about you, or no one wants to see you succeed…but now you know that is false. There are people here who want you to fight the enemy, they want you to make the right decision, to beat whatever you need to beat. Fight on and know this…the reward is coming.
